After your boat runs aground and you determine that there are no leaks, you should take the following steps:
(i) Stop the engine and lift the outdrive and don't put the boat in reverse.
(ii) It is important that you shift the weight to an area that is farthest away from the point of impact.
(iii) Try to keep away from the rock, bottom, or reef which can be done with a paddle or boathook.
(iv) Make sure that the boat is taking water.
