Fault-block mountains are formed when two tectonic plates collide, pushing one over the other while upwarped mountains form when a hot spot of magma pushes upward through the earth's crust.

Fault-block mountains formed from huge, tilted blocks of rock that are separated from surrounding rock by faults.

Upwarped mountains formed when blocks of Earth's crust are pushed up by forces inside Earth.
